the bearded boys

I adore the work of Ashley G. We have her prints in our home in various spots.

Samson is just one of the many fabulously-named, bearded friends she has for you to take home.

Amongst the prints that have seen rotation in our home are Lemon Drop and Laurel.

Nona insisted on Lemon drop, and I'm so partial to Laurel.

During cooler seasons, this lovely bear sits paired with a photo of our smiling Nona in her winter garb, collecting sticks in the snow, during our last Mountain vacation. The print reads "Trust your instincts," which is very appropriate for the spirit of our vacation. When I was pregnant with Valo June, we headed to a mountain cabin on a whim when the roof of our temporary apartment caved in from a plumbing leak. We spent two weeks drinking spicy cocoa, eating homemade cookies, soaking in extra large tubs, and walking in the mountains. the bears were hibernating, but they frequent these parts.

I like to rotate prints, so I fully plan on putting up "Let's Stay Home"

Aren't these great?!

Do you have any of Ashley's art?

  1. Not fond of beards, but the art is great and there are some great names -- and an interesting collection of names. Delightfully eclectic! Nice to see the Great God Thor and the ever lovely Rufus and Jasper. Not to mention that distinctly chirpy Sparrow...

  2. I agree with Nook about the name Sparrow being chirpy, I've really come around to him in the past few months. I've also been slowly falling in love with Flora as well. She's just adorable.

I've also been thinking quite a bit about both September and October as well. They'd both make for unexpected middle names.

  3. I love Sparrow, too! I wish it hadn't been used by a celebrity. I mean they're certainly entitled to great names, too, but then the rest of us can't use them without seeming copycat.
    I adore Flora.
    and months for names!
